Materials needed:

  • 2½” x 3½” black text or cover weight paper—Yours Truly (nine per 8½” x 11” sheet)
  • 3¾” x 4¾” white cover weight paper—Yours Truly (four per 8½” x 11” sheet)
  • A2 red scored card—Yours Truly
  • VersaMark ink
  • Seafoam white embossing powder
  • Pastel Fastenator staples—EK Success
  • Black grosgrain ribbon (3/8” width)
  • Wonder Tape (1/8” width)
  • Dry adhesive, such as a tape runner

  • Fastenator tool—EK Success
  • Clear acrylic block or stamp press (to use with clear stamp)
  • Large corner rounder
  • Heat gun
  • Paper trimmer
  • Pencil
  • Ruler
  • Scissors

Instructions:

  1. Begin with a horizontal (landscape) letter-sized document in a word-processing program. Adjust margins to ½” on the top and bottom and ¾” on the sides. Create two columns. You will be able to fit two invitations worth of text in each column, one at the top and one at the bottom. Type and format text.
  2. Print text on white paper and trim on all sides to create four 3¾” x 4¾” pieces.
  3. Round right corners of white paper.
  4. Attach ribbon to right side of white paper, using the Fastenator tool.
  5. Tear approximately 1” off top edge of red scored card. Round all corners.
  6. Turn scored card so fold is at the top. Stamp sentiment on lower edge of card. Sprinkle with embossing powder, tapping off excess. Heat with heat gun until image appears shiny and raised.
  7. Size photo to 2 ¼” x 3 ¼”. Adhere to black paper.
  8. Adhere black paper to front of invitation, as shown.
  9. Use Wonder Tape to seal left and bottom edges of scored card, creating a pocket.
  10. Slide white paper inside scored card.
