Materials needed:

  • 3½” x 8½” opal text weight paper (2)—Yours Truly (three per 8½” x 11” sheet)
  • 3½” x 8½” opal cover weight paper—Yours Truly (three per 8½” x 11” sheet)
  • 3½” x 8½” clear vellum (three per 8½” x 11” sheet)
  • Blue sheer ribbon (5/8” width)

Suggested tools:

  • ¼” hole punch
  • Paper trimmer
  • Pencil
  • Ruler
  • Scissors

Instructions:

  1. Begin with a horizontal (landscape) letter-sized document in a word-processing program. Create three columns. Design program cover in each column, using text and photos, if desired.
  2. Change printer settings to print on vellum (consult your printer’s manual). Print program cover on vellum and trim to create three 3½” x 8½” pieces.
  3. Create another horizontal (landscape) letter-sized document in a word-processing program. Create three columns to match previous document. Type and format text for the first program page.
  4. Print first program page text on opal text weight paper and trim on all sides to create three 3½” x 8½” pieces.
  5. Create another horizontal (landscape) letter-sized document in a word-processing program. Create three columns to match previous document. Type and format text for the second program page.
  6. Print second program page text on opal text weight paper and trim on all sides to create three 3½” x 8½” pieces.
  7. Assemble program as follows: vellum cover, opal cover weight paper, first opal program page, and second opal program page.
  8. Punch two holes near top of invitation, punching through all layers.
  9. Thread ribbon through holes as shown. Trim ends at an angle to desired length.
