How long do I apply the heat for heat embossing? I always want to be sure it's done, but I think I am burning it.

The video from American Crafts is a great "how to" for heat embossing. If you're worried about burning your paper, heat the embossing powder from the back side of the paper, keeping it about two to three inches from your paper. Keep it in constant motion, small circles work well, and you should be able to see the embossing powder "melt" as you apply the heat. Hope this helps!
