Robin, I bought a Sizzix Texture Boutique beginner's kit and even when I use the paper provided in the kit it seems to rip. What can I do to prevent this? Also is it possible to use regular scrapbook paper and dry emboss without having ripped or white spots of paper because paper almost ripped? Thank you for your help.

There are two things to check right away. The first is to make sure you're not using the white plastic shim. It's a very thin piece of plastic, but it can really make a difference. If you had that included in the "sandwich" of plates and your folder, take it out and try embossing a scrap piece of paper. The second is to check the thickness of your paper. Thinner paper will rip easier, so you can try to put two pieces through the Texture Boutique at once. Cardstock and thicker patterned papers shouldn't rip when they go through the machine. Hope this helps!
